art hero: audrey kawasaki (caution there be boobs)

when i was in college, my room mate, ashley, introduced me to art by audrey kawasaki. this was about 3 years ago, i'm still stalking her work to this day. and once i show you these pieces you'll totally get it! her work is not only beautiful but its erotic, sometimes tender and occasionally haunting. i don't know of any other artist's work that has grasped at my imagination so tightly and held such a firm grip. i'm head over heals for her work. enjoy.

she's one of my biggest inspirations (along with the likes of peter max and alphonse mucha) and i am so thankful to ashley for turning me on to her. audrey's work takes you to another world, where its quiet and serene and it's alright to be a little sexy from time to time. i hope you take a look at her other work. you can find most of these pieces there and also a few more here.

lusting after freepeople stores

if you have been reading O&C for a quick minute you already know how obsessed with freepeople clothing brand i am. everything they produce is magic. recently, they posted over on their blog , some photos of the recent fall displays. i can only dream that one day when and if i ever get my dream of opening my own shop, it will even remotely look as cool as some of their's. i am totally jealous. so i thought i'd share a few photos, but please always stop over and give them some love! *and remember, because it's the proper thing to say, these photos DO NOT belong to me.*** i thought i'd get that out of the way now :)

i can really only hope to be as cool as these people one day! i just want my house to look like one of these shops actually haha! alot of my inspiration comes from free people and i was so happy when they finally put a shop up in pittsburgh! oh geez, you guys should have heard me gushing to the shop girls about how i was so in love with their store and how excited i was that they finally put one in town. you would have been embarrassed for me. it was intense! well, i hope you guys love these photos as much as i do, and that you got a little inspiration out of them yourself!

yea, i know you all just went "aaawwww...look at the fox!" or maybe that was just me. hopefully you guys are as sappy as i am! well happy wednesday everyone!

fun things are happening around here!

i'm slowly working on some super fun things that i can't wait to share with you all! some blog things, some art things, some crafty things, and some design things! i'm not really too good at graphics, but i'm trying my hand with our little blog here and i hope that once i'm finished executing all of my idea, that you'll love it! but things always turn out alot different than what you envision in your head! haha!

again, i'd like to say THANK YOU to all of you wonderful people that have either left a comment or just stopped by to view my art and our little crafty universe here at O&C. i don't think i expressed it as deeply as i could have. but it really does mean the world to me. my art and the crafts i work on are my world! i don't think i could thank you enough, really. it warms my heart to the core to read all of your kind words, you guys are so delightful! i love you all! i hope you keep coming back, because i'm just going to keep lovin' on ya and giving you some neato things to gander at!

monday: love of pink

this week's inspiration monday is dedicated to the color pink. so, it's confession time...for those who don't know me very well, i must tell you that for a good portion of my life i was obsessed with barbies. i mean, i had just about every barbie made between the years of 1991-2003. no kidding. my room was barbie, i had a barbie bike, little battery operated car and everything else in between. once i hit my teen years, it was suddenly uncool to love barbies anymore. but now that i'm in my 20's, i regaining an appreciation for her and her color. i still don't wear much pink (though, i did sport a bright pink blouse amanda gave me the other day), but it does pop up in my wardrobe every now and again and it's been know to sneak into my art and into my crafting. this week i show appreciation to one of the colors that is most iconic....pink. enjoy!
