My name is Jessica, you can call me Jessi. I haven't quite concluded how to define myself in life. I have many roles, many facets to my personality. Though not one single thing dominates my life. I'd like to say I ended up a part of O&C by chance, because it feels that way. But that is so far from the truth. It was inevitable that I would somehow end up a participant. I've know these girls since early adolescents and through trials and tribulation still manage to call them my friends.
I'm 22 years old. I have a bachelors degree in psychology and minors in both child development and sociology. I start Graduate school in August. I come from a large family. My main craft is crocheting. I learned to do so from my Grandmother and enjoy it very much. I do dabble in jewelry now and then. I have also been learning how to cross stitch. I get inspiration from alot of things. I like to look a fashion and see what I can replicate or spring board from that idea to another.
When it comes to Order and Chaos I just consider myself lucky to be along for the ride. So far its been good fun. It really motivates me to work on my crocheting and I get better each day. I'm blessed to have such wonderful supportive friends. I hope to always remain, though however small, a part of O&C. Crocheting has become for me so much more than a simple hobby. It is a joy for me to create and the idea that my creation can bring joy to another person inspires me. I find enjoyment in its simplicity. Though I love psychology and my career will always be dear to me, O&C is something I do, not because I have to, but because I want to. I believe it is always important to have something like that in your life.
Some of my favorite things to use in my hat designs are Buttons. They add so much character to the hat whether they are functional or decorative. I love to make each hat a little different, even if it is similar in yarn or style to another. I think that the real treat of buying handmade items is in knowing that yours is unique. Though I may make several of the same style hat from a single skein of yarn, I make something different on each hat so that no two are EXACTLY the same. I think there is something special about having a hat that is all your own.
A few of my favorite things: Books, A Chinese dwarf hamster named Cornelius aka, Baby, old school play station games like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, The way my grandmother smiles when I act like her, Movies, Tigger, writing, cooking yummy food, music, painting my nails, A cute boarder collie mix named Beauty, my amazing friends, shiny pretty jewelry, cute hats, roses, tulips, lilies, swimming, cold cinnamon sugar poptarts, spontaneous late night trips with friends, pretty yarn, a sweet guy named Nathan who is pretty amazing :), dancing when no one is watching and singing in the car by myself.
Have any questions? Thoughts? Requests? Feel free to ask. I would love to start hearing some feedback from some of you guys who view the page. I know the other girls would love to as well. Is there something you would like to see? Try us! You never know you may inspire us ^_^.
Confession: The oddest places I've ever crocheted was probably in a car on a road-trip. The longest I've ever crocheted without doing something else in-between was about 2 hours. The biggest items I've ever made were blankets. Would I be willing to do custom creations? Of course I would.
Well my lovelies that is all I have to say for now. Should you want to know anything further please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for your views and support it really does mean the world to us.
Live Well, Laugh Often, Love much
